Speakers:

Arthur Richier, Lead Freight Analyst at Vortexa

Arthur is the lead freight analyst at Vortexa, with a background in freight markets and data analysis. Prior to joining Vortexa, Arthur was a Senior Pricing Specialist on the Freight desk at S&P Global Platts, covering dirty and clean tanker markets. Arthur holds an MSc in Energy Management from ESCP Europe and a Foundation Diploma in Tanker Chartering from the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.


Amanda Hilow, Deputy Editor, Americas Crude, Argus Media

Amanda Hilow is the deputy editor of the Argus Americas Crude report. Amanda has roughly eight years of experience leading the coverage of various crude markets, including the US Gulf coast, Latin America, Canada and the US waterborne market. She has played a key role in building various benchmarks for US crude prices including WTI fob Houston, AGS and the Argus AGS Marker. Amanda has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Houston and has completed post-bacc coursework at the Pennsylvania State University on energy business and finance.


Nicholas Watt, Freight Editor for the Americas, Argus Media

Nicholas Watt directs Argus’ coverage of ocean-going freight markets in the Americas. As the region’s editor, he leads the team that produces Americas freight market news, analysis, and daily freight assessments. He has overseen the quadrupling of Americas spot tanker assessments in Argus Freight to over fifty since joining the company in 2015. Nicholas is also the co-founder and former editor-in-chief of the Enerpo Journal, an online publication run out of European University at St. Petersburg that focuses on global energy politics. He holds a master’s degree in international politics from European University at St. Petersburg and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and Russian studies from Lawrence University.

 

Jay Pruett, Business Development, Argus Media

Jay joined Argus in 2012 and manages the business development activities for Argus’ Forward Curves business, which include twenty-four products across eight commodity sectors. Jay brings over twenty years of experience in the electricity and natural gas markets across North America. His expertise is in the North American natural gas and power sectors with deep experience in both wholesale and retail markets. Prior to joining Argus Media, Jay has held leadership positions in trading, origination, asset management, and risk management activities for BP, Direct Energy, Reliant Energy, Kinder Morgan, and Enron. Jay holds a BS in Accounting and Marketing from Houston Baptist University, and an MBA, Finance from the University of St. Thomas, Houston.
