Physical Reality Check: Gasoline vs diesel: will the fortunes turn?

Gasoline was the leading contributor to refining margins ever since mid to late Q1 2021. In this report we will look at the chances of whether and how long gasoline can continue to outperform, specifically as opposed to the other main motor fuel, diesel. We make use of key flow trends and analyse why gasoline and diesel seaborne flows are back to pre-Covid levels, while pretty much everything else is not.
