Erin is a Senior Marketing Manager, based in the Houston office, responsible for marketing initiatives and brand awareness in the Americas region.

Prior to joining Vortexa, Erin worked at Delmar Systems, an offshore mooring and subsea company as a Marketing Manager where she developed and implemented strategic marketing plans giving her company a more global presence.

Fun fact: When Erin was a child she had a dream of becoming an Olympic gymnast ( she was never close to olympian talent- but hey a girl can dream!) Unfortunately, Erin grew entirely too tall to compete in the sport at an advanced level so she found a new passion in dance and soccer (excuse me, football!)

What does day-to-day life in your role look like?

Whether I'm working on a regional marketing strategy, designing a drip campaign, or brainstorming ads and ad content that will resonate with our target audiences in the Americas, no two days are the same.

What would you say is the most interesting aspect of your role?

Being able to be part of introducing Vortexa to unchartered territories. The Americas region is a newer region for Vortexa and the opportunities are endless. It is interesting and exciting to partake in the growth of our brand in uncharted waters.

What was your path to joining Vortexa?

Prior to working for Vortexa I  helped grow marketing teams for different oil and gas speciality companies, from petrochemical piping distribution to engine communication to offshore mooring companies but all were very much the same- traditional oil and gas companies lacking an appetite for change. When the Vortexa opportunity presented itself, it was a no brainer for me, I couldn't wait to be part of such a diverse, dynamic company with a thirst for change.

What kind of qualities does a person need to have to succeed at Vortexa?

Ambition, curiosity, a team spirit and willingness to learn new things.

What do you like about the culture?

The diversity of the company. In my 10 plus years of oil and gas marketing, I've never worked for such a globally diverse team. In the marketing team alone we have representation from six different countries!

Who do you collaborate most with at Vortexa?

The best part about working in marketing is crossing paths with many different teams. Being based in the US I work very closely with our regional team but I regularly communicate with the global analysis team, design, and the product team.

What are the first three things you do on a Monday morning?

Take my puppy Bear out to potty, he likes to wake me up at 6am so my mornings start quite early- a task for a self-diagnosed non-morning person. After that, it's breakfast, coffee ( lots of coffee), and straight to the computer to check Slack, emails, my calendar and to make a game plan for the week.

What energises you most about working as a Senior Marketing Manager?

The encouraging culture. It is uplifting and exciting to be part of a team and a company that celebrates the small and large successes as well as encourages through tough times when things don't go as planned.
