Q & A with Gitanjali Bhattacharjya: Head of Revenue Operations & Analytics

Gitanjali is Head of Revenue Operations & Analytics and possesses over 18 years of experience in operations. Gitanjali’s team is responsible for scaling Vortexa’s operating model spanning Sales, Customer Success and Marketing.

We wanted to discover what inspires and interests Gitanjali most in her role, where she predicts Vortexa will be in five years’ time and what she really thinks of the company culture…


What inspired you to join Vortexa?

There were three things that made Vortexa my first choice. Firstly, I got totally hooked on the concept of using technology to disrupt the energy sector, which is the largest unstructured market in existence today.

Secondly, the people I met during my interview process and clarity of vision. Thirdly, the role itself; building a global operations team from the ground up in a new industry. 

What would you say is the most interesting aspect of your role?

Simply put, my role is responsible for commercial operations, designing our GTM and driving commercial results. The best thing about my role, is that there is no playbook for what we are building - we build it as we experiment and refine our business model.

What does day-to-day life look like for you as Head of Revenue Operations & Analytics? 

No two days at Vortexa look the same. Days are typically fast paced and fairly intense. What has been a revelation to me, is that despite working remotely due to Covid restrictions we have been able to spend as much time as we did in office with our colleagues either via Zoom or Slack - which is the lifeline of our existence.

What key qualities do you look for in new joiners hoping to join your team?

An eagerness to learn and build businesses from ground up, ability to problem solve and come up with a best solution with limited resources.

How would you describe the culture at Vortexa?

Friendly, collaborative and we take fun very seriously!

Where do you predict Vortexa will be in five years’ time?

In five years time Vortexa will be an essential platform for energy commodity trading and related business.
