Shadow of Venezuela Visits Hangs Over Tanker Industry

Since the imposition of US sanctions on Venezuela’s state-owned oil company PDVSA in January 2019, the oil tanker industry has feared that the application could broaden to other companies involved in Venezuelan energy exports and imports. This Insight report examines a high risk scenario for freight tonnage if sanctions were to be extended to tankers involved in Venezuelan movements in the past two years.
