Baltic clean products head to Venezuela
Clean petroleum products which loaded in the Baltic region have recently headed to Venezuela for the first time in almost a year, Vortexa data shows.
A medium-range (MR)-type tanker is underway to Venezuela, following another such export along the route in February.
The Nordic Amy loaded from Ventspils and Klaipeda ports on 27-31 March. The vessel is currently signalling Amuay Bay, where it is expected to arrive around 19 April.
Prior to Nordic Amy, in February, the Baltic port-loaded LR1 Stena Important exported to El Palito in Venezuela, arriving at the end of March.
Before these, Baltic-loaded clean volumes were not observed heading to Venezuela for almost a year, although volumes from this region regularly head to elsewhere in the Caribbean.
Venezuela continues to draw in clean oil products from beyond the immediate region to help plug domestic refinery shortages and for blending purposes.
