Everyday is different! I could be developing a new feature, triaging support issues or pair-programming. The only constant is the morning team standup where I update the team on the previous day’s progress and raise any blockers before planning the rest of my workday.
The variety of work in a complex domain. My role as a Full Stack Engineer requires me to work with many different technologies. Coupled with the various data domains, I am always being challenged.
I joined Vortexa after completing the Technology Graduate Programme at Barclays. Having worked in a large corporate environment, I was keen to work in a company in their scale-up phase.
A person needs to always be curious and be open to learning.
I love that I don’t have to be shy about my lack of knowledge in a particular subject. Everyone is keen to chime in with their experience and knowledge on the matter, which fosters a very effective public forum for sharing knowledge.
Most of the time I work with my immediate team in ADT. There are times where I collaborate with Product and PMMT to better understand our user’s needs.

As a Full Stack Engineer, we work on all the technology to deliver Vortexa’s intelligence data to our users. I love the feeling of making energy markets more accessible, understandable and transparent by creating wonderful user experiences. This is what technology should do: make human lives easier, and I am extremely lucky to be able to contribute to Vortexa’s mission.
