A day in the life of Wanying Zhang, Freight Analyst
Ever wondered what a day in the life looks like at Vortexa for a Freight Analyst? We sat down with Wanying to find out what her day-to-day life looks like.

Discover what a day is like for Product Specialist Liam McEvoy at Vortexa, including insights into his role and thoughts on company culture.
Liam is a London native, reading History at the University of Birmingham. His professional journey began at the ICE, where he gained valuable experience in energy and commodity derivatives. Currently, Liam serves as a Product Specialist here at Vortexa. Before joining the company, he worked as an oil derivatives broker at TP ICAP, further honing his expertise in the industry. Fun fact: Liam once busked on a road trip from New York to LA, playing guitar! He learnt a valuable lesson in real estate in Nashville, when paid more for his spot on the street than for the music he was playing!
Focussing on clients, partners and prospects, I tailor solutions to their unique needs, helping them maximise the value of Vortexa’s products and services.
Understanding the complex challenges our clients face and helping them visualise relevant, real world market solutions.
I began my career at the ICE, where I developed a broad understanding of exchange derivatives. I then transitioned toTP ICAP as an oil derivatives broker, where I honed my client-facing skills.
A self-motivated, curious and collaborative individual - to succeed its imperative to become a student again.
It’s so educational and collaborative, and whilst everyone is a high performer you rarely feel pressured - you feel encouraged to upskill and add value.
Predominantly sales, product development and analysis teams - but in all honesty everyone!
Slack…Check. Email…Check…read up broadly on current affairs then more specifically oil markets and figure out how to bring value to our clients and prospects this week!
Empowered to actively seek solutions for clients, I bring Vortexa to life in their everyday workflows - seeing that success is energising!
