Ever wondered what a day in the life looks like at Vortexa for a Freight Analyst? We sat down with Wanying to find out what her day-to-day life looks like.

Discover what a typical day is like for Mariana Dorsey, Product Specialist at Vortexa, as she shares insights on her role and company culture.
Mariana was born in Bogota, Colombia but moved to the States when she was 6 years old. She studied international business and started off her professional career at Under Armour on the supply chain team, then moved to Exxon and now she’s here! Prior to joining the company, Mariana worked at ExxonMobil as a Crude Scheduler. Fun fact: I recently taught myself how to crochet. Designing and creating your own clothes and gifts for friends is a lot of fun.
I ensure our clients, partners and prospects are extracting as much value from our product and services as possible.
The fact that our product is constantly evolving means that there’s always more to learn and offer to our clients. Every day is different, and I collaborate with many aspects of the business, which makes this role very interesting.
Before starting here, I worked in the oil and gas industry. I'd always been intrigued by tech companies, although I was uncertain about how my experience would translate. Vortexa turned out to be an ideal match for me. It allows me to leverage my past experience in scheduling while also offering me the opportunity to thrive in this innovative environment.
They need to be able to succeed in a fast paced setting, be open-minded and self motivated.
It’s a very welcoming environment, everyone is happy to be a part of the team and help one another out.
Mainly with our product development, customer success and analysis teams.
Coffee, slack and emails, and a weekly team huddle. It’s a nice start to the week to chat with my teammates about what everyone has going on in the coming days.
I’m able to very quickly see the impact my work has and it’s really rewarding. That’s what’s great about working for a fast paced and fast growing company.
