A day in the life of Wanying Zhang, Freight Analyst
Ever wondered what a day in the life looks like at Vortexa for a Freight Analyst? We sat down with Wanying to find out what her day-to-day life looks like.

Meet Sam Hughes, our new full stack engineer, as he shares his background, skills, and what excites him about joining our team.
Hey 👋 I’m Sam, a Full Stack Engineer at Vortexa. I joined just over 4 months ago (how the time flies! 🪁).
The scale of data that Vortexa works with and the high standards they set themselves presented a challenging engineering opportunity; an environment I work the best in and find most rewarding. Additionally, I received a good impression of the engineering culture in the interviews.
I have already had the pleasure of working with lots of incredibly talented people - engineers, analysts, leaders and all. Additionally, I’ve already had a chance to make some impactful improvements to our product and our ways of working, in no small part aided by the openness of the company to listen to ideas.
On the engineering side, I have found it to be a culture of openness, respect, and high expectations. If you present an idea, you will be listened to. If you challenge an idea or yours are challenged, you will be respected. And lastly, high expectations are set; everybody wants to make awesome contributions and not settle for half-measures.
Be curious, speak your mind, be a skeptic of your ideas, and set a high bar for yourself.
