What does day-to-day life in your role look like?

There truly isn’t a typical day; every day delivers a fresh perspective or a fresh obstacle. Generally there are always small projects to complete which are repeated tasks which I look at daily or every other day. Typically, I’ll start the day with a drink while checking Slack, my check lists from the day prior and my ongoing tasks. After that, I’ll jot down my priorities for the day, which can vary.

What would you say is the most interesting aspect of your role?

Having the view of physical shipping movement around the world – eyes in the sky on my screen.

What was your path to joining Vortexa?

At university I did a Geology degree as well as a Metals and Energy Finance degree. Vortexa offers roles which are a mix of the two which I found appealing and drew me to Vortexa.

[At Vortexa] Everyone is forthcoming and approachable.

What do you like about the culture?

Who do you collaborate with?

The analysis team, in which I am a member, also the engineering teams for data quality.

What are the first three things you do on a Monday morning?

Grab a morning tea with a little snack, check slack/emails and greet people.

What energises you most about working as a Graduate Analyst at Vortexa?

Being able to grasp a diverse set of skills and learn about all aspects of the energy industry before deciding what to specialise in.
