Amir works as a Product Manager in the Product & Design team at Vortexa. Prior to joining the company, Amir set out on an exciting entrepreneurial journey at Antler Australia. However, due to the strict COVID-19 restrictions he realised that it wasn’t the best time to launch a startup there. Instead, he decided to continue his career as a product manager at Farakav. Amir has worked on different products from sports to e-commerce, from fashion to robotics but the energy industry has proven to be a whole new and exciting world for him.

Fun fact: Despite the restrictions and challenges brought on by COVID-19, Amir took the opportunity to make big moves and migrated to a new country not once, but twice during the pandemic, from Iran to Australia and then to the UK!

What does day-to-day life in your role look like?

My schedule starts with a regular product team catch-up to discuss important updates from the previous or current day. The rest of the day varies from stakeholder meetings, analysing user behaviour and engaging with customers, exploring, planning and prioritising new ideas for product development and improvement.

What would you say is the most interesting aspect of your role?

It’s a dynamic and exciting role with a focus on learning, communication, exploration, planning, and prioritising and having the best colleagues.

What was your path to joining Vortexa?

I had just moved to London and was on the hunt for a product manager role, specifically focused on AI or robotics centric products. Vortexa caught my eye because of the ambitious vision. During the selection process, I had some really positive interactions with the team, and the product itself sounded proven and super interesting. After I joined, everything just fell into place and I knew I had made the right choice.

I like the diverse and vibrant culture with a team of motivated individuals who are constantly learning and exploring.
