Angie was born in Bogotá, Colombia and emigrated to the US with her family at 8 years old. Prior to joining Vortexa, she worked at Mitsui as an LNG Coordinator & Analyst.

Fun fact: When Angie lived in Colombia, she went to a school owned by the Colombian military with rolling hills and endless pastures to run. She still often has dreams of running these again.

What does day-to-day life in your role look like?

I always start my day by walking my dog, a Chow Chow/Shiba, mix in the mornings and spending time outside. Then it’s onto water with lemon & salt, in the mornings it just hits different!

I then plan out my day based on my current trials by checking up on prospect usage, emails, and slack messages. If I have any check-in meetings, I work with Sales to tailor any specific needs/examples beforehand.

What would you say is the most interesting aspect of your role?

Every day brings different challenges – whether it is helping a prospect with platform questions, providing case study connections to our data from our amazing analysts worldwide, or contributing product feedback and helping set initiatives to best engage prospects.

What was your path to joining Vortexa?

Data-driven decisions are the new normal and this is only going to increase! Working in operations in the past, I wanted to apply this knowledge to best solve pain points in fleet performance and Vortexa’s innovative view on the power of data fit perfectly.

What kind of qualities does a person need to have to succeed at Vortexa?

Adaptability is the key to succeeding in such a focused and driven environment like Vortexa. Everyone works towards the same goal and is willing to quickly address and answer any question from clients all over the world.

I enjoy the versatility and ease of working across different teams which Vortexa management is always encouraging us to do and it feels rewarding.
What do you like about the culture?

Collaboration thrives here and it encourages you to be better for those around you.

Who do you collaborate with?

Almost everyone! I enjoy the versatility and ease of working across different teams which Vortexa management is always encouraging us to do and it feels rewarding.

What are the first three things you do on a Monday morning?
  1. Did I already mention water with lemon & salt?
  2. Read my daily devotional
  3. Plan out my upcoming week and check on deliverables for prospects
What energises you most about working as a Product Specialist at Vortexa?

I always wanted to be more involved in speaking to clients from different energy sectors and learn as much as possible from them while providing key solutions to their problems. Becoming a Product Specialist is the perfect opportunity to further improve these skills and keep growing!
