Cherly works as APAC Community Manager in the Marketing team at Vortexa.

Prior to joining Vortexa, Cherly worked across a range of marketing roles in various industries, from Pharmaceutical to 3D printing to Real Estate. The roles covered social media, content and events.

Fun fact: “My name is a spelling mistake. Guess the correct spelling!”

What does day-to-day life in your role look like?

My day to day tasks include overseeing our events calendar together with Chiara and working closely with other departments across Vortexa to build a better community with our clients and partners. I also work closely with other members of my team to ensure marketing messages and collateral are tailored to the success of every event.

What would you say is the most interesting aspect of your role?

Understanding the responsibilities of different parts of the business and being able to collaborate with them. It’s great to understand all the different viewpoints but equally to all strive together towards one goal – the growth of Vortexa.

What was your path to joining Vortexa?

Before joining Vortexa I worked in a range of industries but always in the field of marketing.

Everyone is intelligent, very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise and always open and ready to share their perspectives.
What kind of qualities does a person need to have to succeed at Vortexa?

They have to be proactive, open-minded and enjoy working in a collaborative space.

What do you like about the culture?

It has been warm and welcoming since day one! Everyone is intelligent, very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise and always open and ready to share their perspectives.

Although I am not based in London and my role focuses on the APAC region, there is a real connection between regions and I do get involved in some global initiatives. There are opportunities to grow.

Who do you collaborate with?

Mainly Marketing, Market Intelligence, Analytics & Customer Experience and Sales teams.

What are the first three things you do on a Monday morning?

Making tea, building a checklist in my head while taking my dogs for their morning walks, then following up with slack messages and emails.

What energises you most about working as a Community Manager at Vortexa?

My responsibilities are similar but always vary at the same time. Working with the stakeholders and brainstorming about improving event and community experiences.
