Christos supports research and analysis tasks related to crude flows and using internal tools and processes, he helps maintain data quality, spot market trends and draw key insights.

Prior to joining the company, Christos was based in Cyprus and worked at D.G Techlink LTD as a User Acceptance Tester Lead and has studied Chemistry at Imperial College London.

Fun fact: Christos is the 7th Chris at Vortexa.

What does day-to-day life in your role look like?

I always keep notes and structure my days, allowing me to manage my time and energy accordingly as I tend to work on multiple tasks throughout the day. I also spend a good proportion of my day working on ad-hoc requests both internal and client related, allowing me to collaborate with a range of people from different functions of Vortexa.

What would you say is the most interesting aspect of your role?

As part of my role I often put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and get deep into investigative work in order to reach conclusions and understand market forces. On the other hand, being able to visualise, spot trends and draw insights from data is invaluable.

What was your path to joining Vortexa?

After completing my degree in London, I moved back home for a year. While seeking a fulfilling workplace that would allow me to improve my professional skills within the tech and energy industry, I stumbled upon Vortexa! The rest is history.

[At Vortexa] No question is a bad question, we are all here to learn and improve.
What kind of qualities does a person need to have to succeed at Vortexa?

Above all else, being a nice and honest person. People here can be characterised by a variety of adjectives. Everyone can be smart, analytical and curious, however, I have yet to meet a non-genuine person who is always willing to help and learn!

What do you like about the culture?

Everyone feels recognised and included. No question is a bad question, we are all here to learn and improve.

Who do you collaborate with?

The Market Intelligence & Analytics team consists of many members across 3 continents. On a given day my interactions vary which keeps things fresh and interesting.

What are the first three things you do on a Monday morning?

While sipping my ice coffee, I go over my slack messages/emails & outline my day. I am then greeted my smiling faces during any morning team meetings ?

What energises you most about working as an Associate Data Analyst at Vortexa?

The nature of the industry is fast paced and hence every day is a new day to learn something new and expand my knowledge, arming myself with an arsenal of skills to thrive. Having a supportive team that fuels my curiosity makes me look forward to the future!
