Could you start by introducing yourself and telling us about your role?
I’m Hilary Kitz, and I’m a technical lead on the Application Development Team. I lead a pod of Full Stack Engineers here at Vortexa.
What inspired you to join Vortexa?
I was really fascinated by the sheer amount of data that Vortexa works with, and I liked the fact that we’re tracking something with real-life relevance. I had also been at a bigger company and I wanted to get back into start-up culture.
Willingness to learn is more important than knowing everything.
How would you describe your first few months in your role?
Mildly overwhelming! But really in the best sense – I’ve been learning a tonne every day, and the team has been amazingly supportive.
How would you describe the culture at Vortexa?
Very open, good humoured, fast-paced, and curious.
