Vickie works on the growth marketing team as a campaign manager, and is responsible for designing and implementing marketing strategies to launch products and help grow the Vortexa community.

Vickie previously worked in the technology events industry, and has 12 years of experience leading teams on large-scale international events and campaigns.

Fun fact: Vickie can perform a lot of circus skills and when feeling VERY brave has even done fire performances in the past.

We wanted to find out what inspired Vickie to join Vortexa, what some of her biggest milestones have been to date and what day-to-day life really looks like for the Marketing Campaign Manager…

What inspired you to join Vortexa?

The chance to work within an organisation that’s transforming the energy sector was very exciting to me.

What would you say is the most interesting aspect of your role?

Planning marketing campaigns lets me combine creativity, strategy and project management, which keeps things interesting as every day is different. There’s also a really wide set of skills and experiences within the marketing team, so I’m constantly learning new processes, marketing theories and analytical skills.

What have been some significant milestone moments for you at Vortexa?

Helping to deliver our Innovation Week! It was my first project after joining Vortexa, and as well as being a very hands-on challenge it gave me the opportunity to work with a lot of different teams within Vortexa and learn more about the business early on.

It’s also really fulfilling to watch a campaign come to fruition, we ran our festive analysis calendar last month and seeing all the content and assets launch was a lot of fun.

[Vortexa] is genuinely one of the most welcoming and inclusive companies I’ve ever worked at!
What does day-to-day life look like for you as the Marketing Campaign Manager?

I’m a real paper and pen person so I’ll always start by going through the campaign calendar and making my to-do list for the day. At the moment I’m working on a product launch and some exciting new campaign ideas – so when not meeting with different team members I’m generally creating email copy and briefing our creative team so that everything is ready to go.

What key qualities make a Marketing Campaign Manager successful?

A strong growth mindset and the ability to collaborate with lots of different individuals and teams are key. There’s also a lot of project management and copywriting involved!

How would you describe the culture at Vortexa?

It’s genuinely one of the most welcoming and inclusive companies I’ve ever worked at! There’s also a fantastic approach to flexible working which has been a game-changer for me.

What advice would you give to people hoping to join Vortexa?

The same advice that so many people gave me on my first day…the best stall on the street food market near the office is the falafel stall (the second one, not the first one).

Describe your working life at Vortexa in three words!

Exciting, inspiring, collaborative.
